Entertaiment is a complex subject, the exploration of which has revealed a nearly endless capacity for creative remix. The familiar forms of entertainment that have emerged from this process of creative transformation, however, are not without their pitfalls. What may appear to be entertainment for one group or individual may be considered work or an act of cruelty by another. In a sense, it is the very nature of these familiar forms that allows them to transcend their own limitations and continue to provide entertainment and pleasure for those who are willing to accept them. This issue of T E News has tried to reflect these challenges and to examine how entertainment has been created through the use of different media.
